About UCP

The Urban Collaborative Project (UCP) is a BIPOC-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that aims to build a self-healing community in Southeastern San Diego by addressing health and the built environment in partnership with residents. We primarily serve neighborhoods in City of San Diego Council District 4, though we often collaborate with neighboring communities for greater impact.

Our focus areas include creating a social infrastructure of neighborhood collaboration through outreach and engagement; addressing transportation, infrastructure, and environmental justice through community-led planning and improvement projects; and art and community beautification through murals, youth programs, and creative placemaking.

UCP’s community healing process is designed to build capacity by encouraging, training, and supporting multigenerational residents to identify and solve community issues together.
